Pre-launch

Token Launch Checklist

Print this, work down it, and you will not be the launch that forgot to revoke mint authority. Every step links straight to the tool that does it inside the Solana token creator.

Eight steps · About 0.5 SOL of fees end to end · Everything non-custodial

Before you mint

Ninety percent of launch regret comes from decisions made in the two minutes before signing: a ticker that was already taken, a logo that renders as a grey square, a supply number picked at random. Settle all of it first.

  • Ticker searched on DexScreener and Solscan — no obvious collision.
  • Logo is square, under 2 MB, and legible at 32 pixels.
  • Description is one sentence a stranger can repeat.
  • Website, X, and Telegram links ready to paste into metadata.
  • Supply and decimals decided and written down.

Trust signals buyers actually check

Before anyone buys, they look at four things on a screener: is mint authority revoked, is freeze authority revoked, is liquidity locked or burned, and how concentrated is the top-holder list. You control all four on launch day, and each one is a checkbox that turns a maybe into a buy.

  • Mint authority revoked — supply is provably fixed.
  • Freeze authority revoked — you cannot freeze a holder's balance.
  • LP burned or locked — liquidity cannot be pulled.
  • Team wallets split and disclosed rather than one wallet holding 90%.

After the pool opens

The first hour sets the tone. Have the mint address, DexScreener link, and revoke transaction links in a single pinned message, and be present in your own chat. Then move to sustained distribution — read how to get more buyers for the playbook that follows launch day.

The checklist

  1. Step 1. Lock your token identity

Name, ticker, one-sentence description, and a 512x512 logo. Search the ticker first — a collision with an existing token costs you search traffic forever.

  2. Step 2. Decide supply and decimals

1,000,000,000 supply with 9 decimals is the memecoin default. Utility tokens usually use 6 decimals and a smaller supply. Use the [supply calculator](/tools) if you are unsure.

  3. Step 3. Fund the wallet

About 0.5 SOL total covers the 0.18 SOL mint, 0.16 SOL of authority revokes, and the 0.1 SOL pool fee — before the liquidity you actually deposit.

  4. Step 4. Mint the token

Use the [Solana token creator](/create) — one signature mints supply and writes Metaplex metadata with your IPFS logo.

  5. Step 5. Revoke authorities

[Revoke mint](/revoke-mint) and [revoke freeze](/revoke-freeze) at 0.08 SOL each. Screenshot the confirmations for your community.

  6. Step 6. Open liquidity

[Create a Raydium CPMM pool](/pool/create), pair a serious amount of SOL, and check the price impact of a 1 SOL buy before you announce.

  7. Step 7. Burn the LP

[Burn LP tokens](/pool/burn) so the pool reads as locked on DexScreener and in your token page.

  8. Step 8. Publish and distribute

Post the mint address, DexScreener link, and revoke proofs everywhere at once. Then work on [getting buyers](/how-to-get-buyers-for-my-created-token) and [holders](/how-to-get-more-holders-for-my-token).

Frequently asked questions

What is the single most skipped step?

Revoking mint authority. Buyers and screeners check it, and an open mint authority is the fastest way to get labelled a rug risk even when your intentions are fine.

Should I burn or lock LP tokens?

Burning is simpler and irreversible, and DexScreener shows the liquidity as locked either way. Burn if you never intend to pull liquidity; lock with a timer if you plan structured releases.

How much liquidity should I start with?

Enough that a normal buy does not move the price double digits. Under 1 SOL of liquidity is effectively untradeable; 5–20 SOL gives a chart people trust.

Do I need a website before launching?

Not strictly, but a one-page site plus an X account and a Telegram group materially improve conversion. Add all three as social links in your token metadata so wallets and explorers display them.

When should socials go live?

Before the pool opens. An empty Telegram at launch reads as abandoned. Seed the channel with your first holders, then open liquidity.
