Getting Started

How to Start a Crypto Project From Zero

You do not need a development team to start a crypto project. You need a clear idea, a wallet, a small budget for fees, and the patience to build an audience.

Non-custodial · One signature · Metaplex metadata + IPFS · Deployed on mainnet

Start with the idea, not the token

The token is the easy part. Before deploying, answer three questions: who is this for, what makes it interesting enough to share, and what happens in the first week after launch. If you cannot answer them, see crypto project ideas for direction.

What you need to begin

A self-custodial wallet, a small amount of the chain's native coin for fees, a logo, and a name and symbol that are not already taken by a well-known project.

On Solana the SolanaForge platform fee is 0.18 SOL plus the small network rent and transaction cost. On BNB Smart Chain it is 0.018 BNB plus gas, and on TON it is 4 TON plus network fees.

  • Wallet: Phantom, Solflare, Backpack, MetaMask, or Tonkeeper
  • Logo: a square PNG works everywhere — the favicon generator can help
  • Budget: platform fee plus network fees, plus any liquidity you choose to add

Step-by-step

  1. Step 1. Validate the idea

Explain it to five people. If it needs a paragraph, simplify it.

  2. Step 2. Set up a wallet

Self-custodial, funded with a little of the chain's native coin.

  3. Step 3. Prepare assets

Name, symbol, logo, description, and social links.

  4. Step 4. Deploy

Use the [Solana token creator](/create) or the chain creator that fits your audience.

  5. Step 5. Make it tradeable

Create a liquidity pool if the token is meant to trade.

  6. Step 6. Show up daily

Community work is the part that decides the outcome.

Frequently asked questions

Can I start with no money?

You need at least enough of the chain's native coin to cover the platform and network fees. The referral program requires no capital at all.

Do I need a team?

No, but solo projects need consistency. Most launches stall because the creator stops posting.

Which chain is best for beginners?

Solana is the common starting point for low network fees and fast confirmation; TON suits Telegram audiences.

Is there any guarantee this works?

No. Creating a token does not create demand for it. Whether anyone buys, holds, or trades your token depends on the market and on the work you put into your community — no outcome is guaranteed.
